Dr Vishal

Dr Vishal Malhotra trained as General Paediatrician in Australia and became a Fellow of The Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2015. Dr Malhotra’s post-graduate qualifications include a Diploma in Paediatrics and Child Health from the University of Sydney and a Master's degree in Public Health.

Dr Malhotra has extensive work experience in General and Community Paediatrics. He undertook his paediatric training at the prestigious Children's Hospital Westmead. He has previously worked as a Staff Specialist Paediatrician at Dubbo Base Hospital. His goal is to improve the health and quality of life of children with chronic diseases and to provide support to their families. Dr Malhotra has a wide range of expertise in general paediatric conditions from the early years of a child through to adolescence. Areas of interest include infant health, epilepsy and childhood allergies.

Teaching and research based activities hold special interest for him. Dr Malhotra is actively involved in bedside and practical clinical simulation based teaching of medical students and is a nominated RACP supervisor for Basic Paediatric Trainees. Recently he has become involved as a working group member for developing a framework for managing urinary incontinence in children and adolescents in the community.

Dr Sunita

Dr Sunita Gurnasinghani graduated in medicine from the University of Mumbai, India in 2000. Dr Gurnasinghani subsequently trained as a General Paediatrician in India and Australia. She has been recognised as Fellow of Royal Australian college of child health and paediatrics. She has worked in NSW hospitals in paediatrics for last 11 years.  She has extensive general paediatrics experience and subspecialty experience in NICU, developmental and community paediatrics, clinical genetics, etc. Dr Gurnasinghani has vast experience with Neuro-diverse presentations such as Autism Spectrum Disorder and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.  Currently, she is also working as consultant paediatrician at Hornsby Hospital and teaching and research-based activities hold special interest for her. She has publication in American Journal Of Clinical Genetics to her name.  
​Dr Gurnasinghani's goal is to provide holistic quality of life to children with various needs and to provide support to their families. She is also passionate about taking a systemic and multidisciplinary approach to the care and health goals of her clients.
​When she is not working, she travels, reads, enjoys classical music and traditional dance forms.

Dr Pooja

Dr Pooja Kashyap is a paediatrician committed to working with families in maintaining the health and wellbeing of children. She has over 12 years of experience and is an academic gold medallist trained in General paediatrics with special interest in neonatal medicine and developmental and behavioural paediatrics. During her paediatric training at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, she worked in the department of psychological medicine gaining invaluable experience in managing children with behavioural, neuropsychiatric and mental health issues. She has worked across various tertiary, metropolitan and rural centres in NSW – Royal North Shore Hospital, The Children’s Hospital at Westmead and Gosford Hospital to name a few. She has also been involved with organizing developmental assessment clinics throughout the Central Coast through community health centres. Her research includes “Developmental Disabilities in Indigenous Children in rural NSW’. She is currently appointed at Gosford Hospital.
She is actively involved in medical student teaching and holds a conjoint lecturer position at UNSW, Rural Clinical School. She has previously served as an examiner for medical students at University of Newcastle. 
Outside of work, she enjoys reading, classical music and spending time with her family.

Dr Ani Deshpande

Dr Aniruddh Deshpande (MBBS, FRACS (Paed), PhD (USyd) is a Paediatric Urologist and Surgeon.

Conditions in Children that he can help with include:

  • Paediatric groin and testicular problems

  • Hydronephrosis and other kidney problems in children

  • Hypospadias and penile problems in children

  • Nocturnal enuresis (refractory) and daytime urinary incontinence

  • Urinary issues in association with Behavioural Disorders

  • Recurrent urinary tract infections and vesicoureteral reflux

  • Cutaneous lumps including in head and neck

  • Chronic abdominal conditions

Dr Deshpande works at Children’s Hospital Westmead, Newcastle with an appointment at John Hunter Children’s Hospital Network. He also a Senior Lecturer and a founding Member of the Priority Research Centre, GroupWell at the Faculty of Health and Medicine, University of Newcastle with a strong research track record (> 40 publications, > 5 research grants and three research students).
Ani is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in Paediatric Surgery and have been awarded a PhD by the University of Sydney for his doctoral thesis on Bladder Dysfunction in Children.

With over 15 years of experience in paediatric surgery and urology, Ani contributed to the establishment of a comprehensive public paediatric urology and incontinence service at John Hunter Children’s Hospital. This is the only service of its kind in regional NSW and is capacity built to autonomously deliver tertiary urological care.

Dr Katie Nash

BSc (Psych), MSc (Psych), MBBS, Dip. Child Health, FRACP

Dr Katie Nash is a Consultant General Paediatrician with a broad range of experience in general paediatrics, including medical, developmental, and behavioural presentations for children of all ages. She has special interests in newborn care and management of common problems in infancy, developmental paediatrics, and behavioural concerns.

Dr Nash completed her medical degree at The University of Sydney, and subsequently obtained a Diploma of Child Health. She completed her training in General Paediatrics at Sydney Children’s Hospital in Randwick, and has several years of experience working at hospitals including Sydney Children’s Hospital, Canberra Hospital, The Royal Hospital for Women, Wollongong Hospital, Royal North Shore Hospital, Gosford Hospital, Wyong Hospital, and Royal Darwin Hospital.

Dr Nash is currently based on the Central Coast, delivering paediatric care at Gosford Hospital. She does weekly clinics at KidsPoint, and monthly clinics at Yerin Eleanor Duncan Aboriginal Health Centre and at Regional Specialists Tamworth.

Dr Louis Angelopoulos

Dr Angelopoulos consults in his private rooms from KidsPoint Specialist clinic at Gosford.

Born in South Africa, Dr Angelopoulos graduated from the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa in 1993. After completing his speciality training on the Oxford Training Programme in the UK with advanced training in benign abdominal, vaginal and laparoscopic surgery

Dr. Angelopoulos moved to The Central Coast, NSW where he shares his extensive knowledge in Conjoint Lecturer role with the University of Newcastle and Obstetrician & Gynaecologist role.

Dr Angelopoulos is a compassionate Obstetrician and Gynaecologist who works with women to ensure they understand and are comfortable with the treatments he recommends. His experience is extensive, and his approach down-to-earth, using only everyday language that reflects his respect and empathy for the women in his care. He is passionate about maintaining a high standard of care within organisations and educating the next generation of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists to deliver high-quality, woman-centred care.
